Typical PropertiesThe solubility of dipotassium phosphate in water is significantly better than that of disodium phosphate. The aqueous solution is slightly basic and shows good buffering properties. Dipotassium phoshate is extremely hygroscopic and must be stored in sealed containers. On heating dipotassium phosphate is transformed into tetrapotassium pyrophosphate.
